Dr. Beverly K. Joiner
DEPUTY to the GARRISON COMMANDER

Dr. Beverly K. Joiner is the Deputy to the Garrison Commander for U.S. Army Garrison Bamberg. She was the Chief, Strategic Planning Division, G5, Plans Directorate, Headquarters, Installation Management Command and the IMCOM Southeast Region Plans Functional Support Team Chief since October 2009.
Joiner started her Department of the Army Civilian Service career on 30 April 1984. Her first assignment was at Fort Rucker, AL, as an Education Specialist Intern. During the internship, she worked in various training assignments in the Directorate of Training and Doctrine. Upon completion, she was assigned as an Education Specialist in the Warrant Officer Career College, and subsequently, the Aviation Officer Advanced Course.
In 1992, Joiner became the Child and Youth Services Coordinator at Fort Rucker. From 1992 to 1997, she managed the installation Child and Youth Programs. In 1997, she accepted an assignment in Yongsan, Seoul, South Korea as the Chief, Family Programs. During this time Joiner ensured the accreditation of three family programs, the third installation in the Army to have Army Community Service, Child Development Services, and School Age Services programs accredited.
In 2002, Joiner was selected as the Family Support Program Director for IMCOM-Korea Region, and later was reassigned as the Region Child and Youth Services Program Manager in 2004.
Upon completion of the Air War College on 24 May 2007, Dr. Joiner returned to Korea and was assigned as a Supervisory Management Analyst in the Region Plans Division, IMCOM-Korea.
Joiner’s key recognitions include two Department of the Army Achievement Medal’s for Civilian Service and the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service.
Joiner holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Psychology and an Educational Doctorate Degree in Vocational and Adult Education. Joiner’s military training includes Army Management Staff College, Air War College and the Defense Leadership and Management Program.
