ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY COPY MACHINE STANDARDS

• USAG Bamberg copy machine paper and computer printer paper purchases will be placed through SSSC channels (copy machine contractor no longer delivers copy machine paper).
• Every effort should be made to use digital copy methods (digital sender, scanner) to avoid wasting copy machine paper. The new copy machine contract includes a LAN/email connection for all Garrison copy machines, to ensure that customers have the option of digitally-sending copies to computers for storage and retrieval.
• When possible, both sides of a piece of copy machine paper should be used to avoid wasting copy machine paper.
• When possible, blank sides of used copy machine paper should be used (i.e., place used pieces of paper with one remaining blank side in copy machines for reuse).
• Copy machines must be used for reproduction jobs that total less than 500 copies (each side of a sheet of paper is considered one “copy”), as this method is more cost effective than a Printing and Duplication Request (IAW AE Reg 25-30).
• There is no longer a requirement for individual copy machine production numbers to be logged through the Garrison Publishing Control Officer. All copy machines are flat-rate contractual agreements (if you need a larger-quantity machine, please contact the Publishing Control Officer).
• Copy machine service calls may be placed by customers through the posted contractor telephone number and serial number that is located near each machine (alternately, customers may contact the Publishing Control Officer to request assistance).
• If you need a copy machine moved, please contact the Publishing Control Officer, as a physical move for a copy machine requires a contractor work order (to preclude damage, customers may not move copy machines to new physical locations).

Information on this web page is published in conjunction with the award-winning Garrison DPW Environmental Office.

Please use the Garrison Sort Facility to dispose of paper trash created by copy machines and computer printers. The Sort Facility additionally offers an industrial shredder for large shred jobs, available on Tuesdays from 1300 to 1600.

If you have suggestions concerning creating environmentally-friendly procedures in your area in the Garrison, please contact the DPW Environmental Office. Alternately, if you feel the U.S. Army at large would benefit from your suggestion, feel free to submit your suggestion at the Army Suggestion Web Page.
