Goal
“My goal, and the goal of my entire staff, is to provide the Bamberg Community with the best possible mail service available. To provide a “hometown” post office atmosphere where customers feel back at home and assured that their postal needs will be taken care of.”
Concept
The new Postal Service Center (PSC) concept brings all postal related services into one combined location for the convenience of customers. The one-stop-shop combines Mail Room, Official Mail Room (OM) and Postal Finance services together in one cohesive team located in Building 7116.

Services
The Post Office provides domestic, international, and military (MPS) postal services. These services include, but are not limited to; insured, registered, delivery confirmation, certified, and return receipt mailing. All current postage stamps are available as well as U.S. Postal Money Orders. Wrapping paper, tape, pens and scissors are available in the lobby and are provided as a courtesy of the Bamberg Garrison Commander. Appointments are available on a limited basis regardless of how many parcels you are mailing. Simply ask at the window or call for appointment details. Valid I.D. cards are mandatory and services are limited to those postal patrons that are stationed or reside in USAREUR and have a valid USAREUR APO return address.

Temporary Mail Disposition Request.
This link provides access to DD Form 2258, Temporary Mail Disposition Form. Completing and submitting this form on-line provides customers an opportunity to submit mandatory temporary mailing instructions to the PSC Mailroom. These instructions include mail holding or forwarding. Sponsors are required to submit this information whenever they depart for more than 30 days for Hospitalization, Deployments, Leave, or other absences of more than 30 Days. Mail held at the PSC for more than 30 days is considered “aged mail” and will be returned to sender. This form will only be accepted using AKO or EUR account for security reasons.
On-Line Claim Filing. This link provides access to the U.S. Postal Service electronic claim filing webpage. Information may be obtained also at http://www.usps.com/insuranceclaims/online/. Customers are now required to file claims on-line and not at the Postal Service Center. All required instructions are available on line at this web site.
