Self Help Store Overview

  • The facility is open to all occupants of Government, Leased, and Government-Rental-Housing (GRHP) quarters, as well as single soldiers living in Residence Halls. Occupants of economy quarters are also authorized to use the program, however only certain items will be authorized for their use.
  • Individuals may have an account set up based on their “Assignment to Housing” paperwork.  Residence Hall occupants must be listed on a current Residence Hall Roster. Troop units and post services will be serviced through their Delegation of Authority Cards (DA Form 1687), maintained on file at the store.

  • Self-Help work includes all home maintenance activities normally accomplished by a prudent home owner. Work of this nature is the responsibility of the Family Housing occupant. Its purpose is to allow the occupant to make minor improvements and repairs to their building and cut down on the amount of backlogged service orders at DPW. A kind of U-fix-it. This allows occupants to do work in their building themselves, thus improving the appearance of their home as well as the outside of the building.
  • Store personnel may, at times, be required to limit the amount of issue due to various factors (i.e. shortage of material, late delivery, etc.). These limits will, however, be of a temporary nature.
